ETOIMS® IN HEALTH AND DISEASE
Nerve-muscle injuries start at the trigger points and pain can spread to the entire muscle. When the muscle fibers become tight, they will put a vice-like constriction on the nerves and blood vessels within the muscle. This muscle shortening and tightness cause pain and discomfort by a traction effect on the coverings of the bone (periosteum) and lining within joints (synovium) over which the muscles overlie as well as pull on the tendons and ligaments around the joint.
The eToims® Technique can be used in those with nerve-muscle involvement such as acute or chronic pain, tingling and numbness or weakness. It can be utilized also in wellness for those who have no pain but have stiffness, tightness, and discomfort.
Experience with The eToims® Technique can elicit deep muscle twitches which can visibly shake or move the joint especially in acute nerve injuries/irritation. In chronic pain, the trigger points are very difficult to locate and stimulate due to stiffness and tightness of the overlying muscles. In such situations, the twitches tend to be of low force and care must be taken not to cause pain to the patient during and after treatment. Application of the treatment must be virtually painless.
