eToims® Medical Technology, LLC is a science and technology private firm that developed the proprietary Non-Invasive Electrical Twitch Obtaining Intramuscular Stimulation (ETOIMS) system. Our muscle stimulator eToims® ET127 is used in locating irritable or injured trigger points (neuromuscular junctions) which are the first to be damaged in spinal nerve root irritation due to spinal arthrosis. 

The spine and spinal nerve root degeneration are caused primarily by aging which is initiated and or aggravated when exposed to sudden blunt trauma and/or chronic repetitive stress injuries.

The ease or difficulty in locating these trigger points can indicate the diagnostic presence of acute and/or chronic nerve irritation/denervation. Twitches evoked at irritable trigger points are large and forceful in acute ischemic nerve irritation. Although such irritable trigger points that can elicit forceful twitches are present in chronic nerve irritation, the trigger points are difficult to locate for stimulation. Nonetheless the best efforts have to be utilized to locate and stimulate these injured trigger points. This difficulty is secondary to tightness and stiffness of overlying painful muscles which become shortened when they are chronically unable to move joints through the full range.
